Biddie Murrell Archer’s daughter, Charlice Joy Beard Shumater, 63, died May 6 in Ilascia, Texas. She was buried in Cleveland, Texas. She was born in Elida and grew up in Roosevelt County. Her father, CJ Beard was from Elida.

Face lift
Delbert Bradley needs help painting the main part of Elida. He plans to start to start at 8 a.m. on June 7. Paint and equipment will be provided.
Be Ready
Police Chief Ron Haley reports there will be a police check point set for Elida sometime this month.

There will be a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday sponsored by the Eastern Plains Council of Governments to discuss the city’s fire department, EMS, court and law enforcement

Monroe Gilmore has recently been in the Lubbock hospital but is now home . . . Montie Cochran has been ill and having tests but is home now . . . Kent Winders has been in Houston taking treatments and is now home . . . Billy Russell is still in an Albuquerque hospital and it is reported he is doing better.
