Jerry Davis, 64
Mr. Jerry G. Davis, 64, of Roswell, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at Casa Maria Care Center in Roswell.
He was born on July 16, 1939, in Roswell, to John Gregg and Magnolia Ward Davis.
He graduated from Portales High School in 1958. He married Donna Philpott in 1961. He married Ludene Meeks in 1976. He moved back to Roswell in 1964. Family members said he enjoyed fishing, dancing and spending time with children. He was a Methodist and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He is survived by his brother, Terry Davis of Portales; his children, Lenisa Davis-Kester of Roswell, Linda Lindsey (and husband, Mike) of Comanche, Okla., Barbara Baker of Roswell, Beverly Frank of Amarillo, Diane Clayton of Ruidoso, James Williams of Amarillo and Terry Collins (Barbara) of Hedley, Texas; his grandchildren, Camron Sellers of Scottsdale, Ariz., Shayla Davis of Comanche, Okla., Cole Baker of Roswell, Jackie Carter of Guymon, Okla., Jesse Gilbert of Oklahoma, Justin Williams of Amarillo, Greg Collins of Clarendon, Texas, and Josh and Maggie Collins, both of Hedley, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Abi and Maci; and a special friend, Dustin Cekander.
Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gene Carter, Buster Wooten, Johnny Welch, J.E. Carmichael, Ed Fletcher, Bill Bohannon, Bill Prince, Kenneth Baker, Billy Albarez, Jim Lewis and Roy Capps.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Christian Children’s Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales 88130.
Arrangements are by Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory of Roswell. Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel in Roswell.
