9-14 Altrusa Notes

Altrusa International Inc. of Portales met on Monday with 33 members present. Kathy Knoll presided over the business meeting. Minutes were read and approved.
Marcia Brown gave the Altrusa Accent on “Questioning vs. Doubting.”
Frankye King reported that four houses have been confirmed and they are trying to secure one more. She asked that her committee meet after the meeting to finalize plans for the Home Tour to be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Oct. 5.
Sheryl Borden announced the Holiday Happening committee would meet at noon on Monday at KENW-TV to plan this year’s event.
Keytha Jones discussed possible service projects to be funded with proceeds from the annual Holiday Happening project. Members completed a survey indicating their top choices for recipients.
Marcia Brown informed the club that LifeSaver Food Bank no longer collects food coupons and asked that the members discontinue bringing them to meetings.
Elaine Ennis asked that articles for the next newsletter need to be submitted to her one week earlier as she will be out of town.
The president asked the board to meet briefly after the meeting to discuss the district officer visit.
The next club meeting will be on Sept. 22 and plans for the Fifth Monday meeting on Sept. 29 will be forthcoming.
