LAWTON, Okla. — Junior Irshaun Pinckney led five Eastern New Mexico University players in double figures with 18 points and the Greyhounds pulled away in the second half Thursday night for an 86-68 win over Cameron in a Lone Star Conference men’s crossover game.
Junior forward Jamaal Hunnicutt added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Hounds (10-3), who improved to 5-0 in crossovers and extended their winning streak to eight games. Garland Coleman finished with 13 points, and Kennis Green and Travazz Buckley each scored 12.
The Aggies (5-8) got five 3-pointers and 21 points from guard Jeremy Amos. Also for CU, Marcus Girtmon contributed 16 points and Chad Crawford had 12.
ENMU erased a 10-8 deficit with an 11-0 run that included baskets from five players, only to see the Aggies counter with nine consecutive points to pull even. The Hounds finished the half on a 19-10 run, capped by junior Edmound Elzy’s 3-pointer with 34 seconds left, for a 40-31 advantage at the break.
Still leading by nine two minutes into the second half, Coleman’s 3-point play kicked off a 13-0 run that made it 57-35 with 13 minutes left. The Aggies never got closer than 17 after that, and Eastern led three times by as much as 23 points.
Pinckney scored 12 of his points in the second half, finishing the game 7-of-11 from the field. Hunnicutt contributed 10 of his points after halftime.
Eastern dominated the Aggies on the boards 50-36, with Buckley adding eight rebounds, and forced Cameron into 20 turnovers.
