AMARILLO — The (Texas) Panhandle Press Association on Saturday awarded five honors to Portales News-Tribune staff members at its annual awards banquet.
PNT photographer Lisa Sonnenschein captured a first-place award for feature photography. PNT Managing Editor Mike Linn, staff writer Kevin Wilson and columnist Helena Rodriguez also captured awards in the PPA’s largest circulation category.
Linn was recognized three times, including once for work published in the Clovis News Journal, a sister paper.
The Clovis paper received the PPA’s General Excellence award for the third consecutive year. The General Excellence honor is the press association’s top prize.
PNT columnist Bob Huber earned an honorable-mention award for work published in both Clovis and Portales papers.
