Both the academic and athletic awards assembly will be May 26 at 1 p.m. in the old gym.
The promotion from eighth grade to high school will be May 27, at 5:30 p.m. in Greyhound Arena. The early hour will allow families who have seniors participating in the prom to attend both events.
Administrative Assistant Sandi Golden reminds students that all obligations owed to the school must be paid. These include text books and any damage fees, library books, fund raising, pictures, lunch charges, and library fines. Eighth grade students will not be allowed to participate in the promotion ceremony if all obligations are not taken care of.
Cinco de Mayo
Spanish teacher Jay Smith introduced the Spanish students and welcomed the student body to a cultural assembly Wednesday. Andrew Mason gave a history of the beginnings of this celebration. Two thousand Mexican troops defended two forts against over 6,000 French soldiers on May 5, 1862.
End of School schedule
Students will be taking nine-weeks test May 20 and 21. Their semester tests will be May 24 and 25. Teachers will post final grades May 26, and students will learn their passing status by May 27. School will dismiss at 1 p.m. May 28.
Report Cards Available
Junior high students or their parents may pick up report cards at the school office beginning June 7.
