Students Write Well
Principal Steve Harris congratulates the eighth-grade students for scoring so high on the state writing assessment. He states that the scores are a result of the hard work that the students and teachers both do.
Awards Assembly Scheduled
Students receiving either academic or sports awards will be recognized May 26 at 1 p.m. in the old gym. Parents are invited to celebrate their student’s accomplishments with them.
Eighth-grade students earn their wings May 27 as they are promoted to high school. The 5:30 p.m. program will be held in Eastern New Mexico University’s Greyhound Arena. The early hour will allow families of both high school and junior high students to attend both the eighth grade promotion and the high school May pole activities.
Testing Closes the Year
Thursday and Friday will find students taking their last quarter tests. Then the following Monday and Tuesday students complete their semester tests.
Early Release May 28
tudents are released at 1 p.m.the last day of school. After promotion ceremonies on Thursday, students will be able to help move books to storage and prepare the school for summer.
Students must pay book charges and school fees before they can participate in the end of school activities, including eighth-grade promotion.
School offices will be closed Memorial Day. Parents and students may pick up their report cards beginning June 7.
