Viola J. Wiggs
Mrs. Viola J. Wiggs, 90, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, in Amarillo.
She was born Nov. 25, 1914, in New Mexico.
She was raised in New Mexico and attended Texico High School. She married Melvin Lee Wiggs on July 25, 1935, in Clovis. He died in July of 1998. She moved to Amarillo in 1992. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmie and Bill Wiggs of Amarillo, and Brian Wiggs of Portales; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. (CST) Monday at Pleasant Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Amarillo.
Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home in Amarillo.
Jesse E. Evetts, 91
Mr. Jesse E. Evetts, 91, of Poteau, Okla., died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 in Poteau.
Evetts was born March 19, 1913, in Leon Junction, Texas.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a law enforcement officer and as a restauranteur.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Hanover Evetts, three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Pat Watson (and husband Ed) of Portales and Barbara Ann (and husband Cloyce) Sinclair of Poteau, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau. The Rev. Dale Glenn and Jeff Sinclair will officiate.
