Eastern New Mexico University football coach Mark Ribaudo has announced the signing of three freshmen to national letters of intent.
The signees include Jason Behler, a free safety from Brownwood (Texas) High School; Clark Hanley, a tight end and deep snapper from Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas, and Randall Hutchinson, a defensive tackle from Navasota (Texas) High School.
“Jason is really fast,” Ribaudo said. “He can hit and will help speed up our secondary. He comes from a very good program.
“Clark is an extremely intelligent young man and a great deep snapper who can play right away at that position. He will also compete at tight end.”
The 6-foot-2, 255-pound Hutchinson is a multisport player at Navasota, Ribaudo said.
“Randall is a very athletic defensive tackle,” he said. “He starts on his high school basketball team. He moves really well for a big man, and we’re very excited to have him.”
Ribaudo, named in November to replace the retiring Bud Elliott as ENMU’s head coach, and his staff are trying to pursue quality more than quantity in signing players. The Greyhounds return a significant number of starters, plus key backups and numerous redshirts, for the 2005 season.
