FLOYD — Tucumcari posted a 14-6, 14-5 baseball sweep over Floyd on Saturday, dropping the Broncos to 0-3 for the season.
Floyd begins District 6-1A action on Monday with a 3 p.m. game at Elida.
Broncos coach Adam Terry said his team played well for the most part, but had costly breakdowns. They were also a bit shorthanded.
“We were missing quite a few players for ACT tests,” he said. “We were experimenting a little with pitchers, but we’re getting better.
“We play good, but then we have an inning where we break down. We never could put much together (on offense).”
