Upcoming events
• Seniors will meet Thursday for games and fellowship. Pot Luck is at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7.
• Last day of school is Friday. School will dismiss at noon.

Heritage Days
The Roosevelt County Heritage Days Festival is coming up in June. An added feature this year will be a fiddle contest on June 18. There will be several different age divisions: 10 and under; 11-16, 17-21, 22-55, and 55 and over. There will also be a junior all-around champion and senior all-around champion. Signups will be that morning at the festival at Portales City Park. Prizes will be buckles and cash. Church news
Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. and church service is at 10:45 a.m. at the Floyd Baptist Church.
 
Commodities
Commodities will be given out at Bethel Baptist Church. Call Adrella Evans at 356-9042 for information.
 
Around town
There will be a party for Wayne and Darlene Corbin celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. It will be Sunday at the Wells Fargo Bank in Portales from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All friends and family are invited to celebrate and have refreshments. No gifts, please.
