Jimmy Chunn
Services: A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Causey Cemetery.
Mr. Jimmy “Bo” Chunn, 71, of Causey died Friday, July 8, 2005, at his home.
He was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Pitchfork to Lola and Clovie S. Chunn. His family lived in Bledsoe, Texas, until 1946 when they moved to Arch. He was a member of the Class of 1952 at Portales High School. He married to Annetta Judah on July 18, 1954. They later divorced. He moved to Causey in 1959 and ranched. He raised black angus cattle. He also operated Chunn Well Service until the early 1980s. He was a member and Past Master of Elida Lodge No. 31 and the Portales Lodge. He was a member of the Causey Church of Christ.
Family members said he had presided over countless Masonic graveside services through the years and also was involved in showing calves and helping others with how to show their cattle.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by a son, Rick Chunn (and wife, April) of Woodland, Wash., a daughter, Karen Chandler (Steve) of Portales; four grandchildren, Amber Logan (Mark), Staci Shoemaker (Scott), Stanley Chunn and Stephannie Chandler; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Grace; his father and step-mother, Clovie and Esther Chunn of Portales; a brother, Clovie L. “Co” Chunn (Valerie) of Portales; and three sisters, Carmen Woods (Roger) of Rogersville, Mo., Chari Wood (Ronnie) of Roswell and Sue Inge (Blake) of Dora.
Leroy Thomas will officiate services.
Pallbearers will be Miller Butts, Danny Inge, Johnny Inge, Stanley Chunn, Jay Alexander, Jerry Alexander and Wade Butts.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge and his many friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Mary Lopez
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Iglesia Evangelica de Dios en Cristo Jesus.
Mary Lopez, 60, of Portales died Friday, July 8, 2005, at her home.
She was born Jan. 3, 1945, in Artesia to Dominga and Frutoso Morales. She was married Manuel Lopez on Oct. 15, 1965 . They moved to Pecos, Texas, in 1968, and remained there until 2004 when they moved to Portales so her daughters could help with her care.
She was a member of Evangelica de Dios en Cristo Jesus.
Family members said she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Iglesia
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband,; a son, Raymond Lopez (and wife, Crissy) of Lubbock; two daughters, Melissa Lopez of Pecos and Cassandra Lopez of Portales; eight grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Garcia, Christy, Raymond Jr., Orlando, Ashley, Amber and Angela Lopez; a brother, Benny Morales of Roswell; and five sisters, Cecilia Morales, Louisa Morales, Sophia Morales, Rachel Morales and Marianne Morales all of Artesia.
The Rev. Manuel Ornelas will officiate the services.
Burial will follow in Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Adam Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Raymond Lopez, Jr. and Daniel Lucero.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Carl Earl Wilson
Services: Will be held at a later date
Mr. Carl Earl Wilson, 67, of Portales died Wednesday, July 7, 2005, at his home.
He was born April 11, 1938, in Taos to Jess and Elisa Rael Wilson.
Family members said he served as a volunteer for different community activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter; Michelle Sanchez; a sister, Clementina Wilson; and a brother, Leo Wilson
He is survived by his wife, Martha Wilson of Portales; two sons, Leo Wilson (and wife, Lisa) of Hobbs and Michael Wilson of Las Cruces; a daughter, Carla Veo (Justin) of Red River; two brothers, Patrick Wilson and Cecil Wilson, both of Portales; and seven grandchildren
Arrangements are under the direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
