Greyhound runners finish fourth

WEATHERFORD, Okla. — Redshirt freshman Felix Boit of Kenya finished 10th overall, earning All-Lone Star Conference honors and leading the Eastern New Mexico University men’s cross country team to fourth place in Saturday’s LSC meet, hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma.

Boit ran a time of 26 minutes, 59.1 seconds over eight kilometers for the Greyhounds. The top 10 finishers in both men’s and women’s competition earned All-LSC status.

Abilene Christian continued its domination of the event, winning the men’s championship for the 15th consecutive year. The Wildcats, ranked second in NCAA Division II, took the top three individual places, led by Kenyan Nicademus Naimadu’s winning time of 25:25.6, and finished with 28 points to 47 for runnerup East Central.

Angelo State was third with 68 points while the Hounds had 90 points in the nine-team event.

ENMU’s women were seventh out of 12 teams with 214 points. Abilene Christian also won on that side with 43 points, its fifth consecutive title, while West Texas A&M was second with 66.

Sophomore Joyce Doan led the Zias, placing 24th in 24:57.8 over 6K. Trina Cox led another 1-2-3 finish for Abilene Christian with a winning time of 21:31.8.
