Fort Lewis beats Hounds in exhibition

Junior forward Tim Bieri had five 3-pointers and scored 26 points Friday night to lead Fort Lewis to a 94-63 victory over Eastern New Mexico University in a men’s exhibition basketball game at Greyhound Arena.

Only guard Gerald Bryant joined Bieri in double figures with 16 points for the Skyhawks, but eight other Fort Lewis players contributed to the scoring column.

Three Greyhounds scored in double figures — junior forward Mikal Monette with 14, freshman forward Jake Holladay with 13 and junior forward Ike Cross with 10.

Fort Lewis, leading 43-36 at halftime, pulled away with a dominating second half in which the Skyhawks racked up 51 points.

ENMU opens the 2005-06 season at Lubbock Christian on Nov. 15.
