Group to sponsor forum on Iraq
Friends for Democracy is sponsoring a forum about Iraq at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Sandia Room in the Campus Union Building on the Eastern New Mexico University campus. Dan Acheson-Brown of the Political Science Department and Doug Morris of the Education Department at ENMU will be presenters.

Methodists hold turkey dinner
The First United Methodist Church in Portales will hold it’s 52nd Annual Turkey Dinner and Bazaar from 11a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church at Second Street and Avenue C.

Adults are $7 and children 10 and under are $4. Delivery and carryouts are available. For more information, call 356-8597.

Dora basketball alumni game
There will be ladies and mens basketball alumni games held at the Guy Luscombe Gymnasium in Dora on Nov. 12. The Dora women’s alumni basketball game will take place at 6 p.m. and the men’s alumni basketball game will take place at 7:30 p.m.

There will also be a brisket dinner at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium. Those who are interested in the dinner and the game can make reservations with Ty Thatcher at 477-2211 or 356-6980,cost is $10 per person.

Those who are only interested in playing in the basketball games can pay $5 at the door.
