Students in the Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement organization competed Friday. Their first challenges of the year required them to build a trebuchet, robot, and a mousetrap car. The trebuchet, a weighted catapult, is judged for accuracy on a target rather than just moving an object the greatest distance. Eastern New Mexico University Roswell hosted students from the eastern district.
