ELIDA — Kodi Armitage scored 17 points as the Elida Lady Tigers (5-1) breezed past the House Cowgirls Tuesday by a score of 63-33.
Elida got out early and posted a 35-15 halftime and built on that in the final two quarters.
“We got it going early in the first quarter and coasted through the game,” Elida coach Dan Howard said. “We had a chance to work on some of the things we knew we needed work on.”
Lindsay Bob Smith joined Armitage in double figures with 12, Morgan McBride had 10 and Alicia Cross-Smith had nine for Elida.
Sara Lee led House in scoring with 14 and Shelby McElroy had nine.
The Lady Tigers hit the hardwood again Dec. 15-17 in the Tucumcari Tournament.
Tigers claim third win
ELIDA — After a grueling tournament in Anton, Texas over the weekend, the Elida Tigers came home to their own gym Tuesday night and got an easy win over a small House Cowboy team, 70-34.
House made its best effort in the first quarter as the Cowboys managed 15 points in the stanza but by the half Elida had built a 38-21 lead. The Tigers (3-2) scored 21 in the third quarter, its best period of the night and got ample time for its bench in the contest.
Ever Barela led the Tiger scoring effort with 12 while Kade Cathey had 10.
For House J.B. Snipes and Jonas Moya had nine apiece.
They’re a young team with just seven on the team and three or four freshmen,” Elida coach Darrell Chenault said of House. “It was nice to finally play someone that was younger than we are.”
The Tigers will next play Tuesday against Gateway Christian in Roswell.
In the junior high game Elida took a 28-25 victory.
