The SEI call center in the works since May opened Monday with eight technicians and two supervisors, according to company officials.
Located in the former ClientLogic Building on Seventh Street, the technology-based Customer Care Service, or computer help desk, supports inbound customer requests related to technical issues with computer hardware and software.
Susan Schuette, vice-president of customer relations for SEI, said the company plans to hire 10 more technician for its Clovis branch.
“We are going to continue ramping up the help desk division in Clovis,” Schuette said.
Plans for a second operation in Clovis which employees would take remote orders for clients in quick service industries such as fast-food restaurants has been canceled.
Schuette reported six individuals were originally hired to operate the ROC.
“Four of the ROC employees will go to work in the computer help division,” Schuette said. “The other two employees have been offered severance packages.”
The customer service company leased the old ClientLogic building and began recruiting employees via job fairs held at CCC and Eastern New Mexico University.
SEI currently has McDonald’s, Sonic and Microsoft as clients.
