RCRTC offers youth capital tour
Roosevelt County Rural Telephone Cooperative is making preparations for the 2006 Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. June 3-7. Letters and applications have been mailed out to area schools. Any student who is a junior in high school and whose parents are RCRTC members (prefixes 273, 274, 253, 276, 477, 478, 482, 675) may fill out an application.

This is an opportunity for a high school junior to experience the world of telecommunications and government as well as sightsee. It allows students to meet other high school students from rural communities across the country.

For more information, contact school counselors or call RCRTC at 226-2255. The application must be submitted to Roosevelt County Rural Telephone by Feb. 10.

CSC offering utility bill relief
Community Services Center will begin to administer the PNM Good Neighbor Fund to help the public with utility gas relief. The purpose of this program is to assist residents within Roosevelt County who are financially unable to pay or who have had a crisis recently that has caused them a financial burden.

Drop by Community Services Center, 1100 Community Way in Portales to pick up an application. Appointments will be made for Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
