Elida stays unbeaten in district play

FLOYD — Thomas West went 4-for-5 with two doubles and Austin Shrock added three singles, leading a 12-hit attack for Elida as the Tigers beat Floyd 13-3 on Friday in a District 6-1A baseball game.

Wesley Gilmore went the distance for the Elida (7-4, 3-0 district), striking out 13 and allowing six hits and a walk over seven innings. Chet Chenault accounted for two runs for Floyd (3-8, 1-3) with a sixth-inning homer.

In a junior varsity game, the host Broncos defeated Elida 11-6.
