Hound soccer wins opener

PNT Staff Report

The Eastern New Mexico mens soccer team opened their season on the road Thursday afternoon with a 2-0 win at Colorado Christian.
Andrew Perez got the Hounds on the board first with a first half penalty kick.
Jared Morris added to that total after capitalizing on a one-on-one showdown with the Colorado Christian goalkeeper midway through second half.
ENMU head coach Carlos Elizondo liked the effort.
“We’re still working on some things, I like the way we are playing the ball on the ground, its when we get the ball up in the air that we have trouble sometimes,” Elizondo said.
The Hounds play their home opener at 3:30 p.m. Saturday against Embry-Riddle.
