DALLAS — Mandy Gomez scored twice in the second half on Saturday, rallying Dallas Baptist to a 3-2 victory over Eastern New Mexico in women’s college soccer.
Trailing 1-0 midway through the first half, the Zias (3-4) got goals from freshman forward Leslie Weber and senior midfielder Anna Funck in a span of just over two minutes to take the lead into halftime. Weber scored on a pass from Nicole Bregler, while Funck’s goal was unassisted.
Rebecca Armstrong’s unassisted goal gave Dallas Baptist (4-1) a quick lead with just over three minutes gone in the match.
Stephanie Sanchez had five saves in goal for the Zias, who play their fourth consecutive road match in a 3 p.m. clash on Tuesday at New Mexico Highlands.
