CANYON, Texas — Southeastern Oklahoma kept the Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team reeling on Saturday, sending the Zias to a 30-15, 25-30, 30-27, 30-23 setback in West Texas A&M’s Lady Buff Classic.
After getting dominated in the first game, the Zias got five kills each from junior outside hitters Jessie Macknicki and Kari Adkins to pull even at a game apiece. But the Savage Storm (7-6) went on to take the next two games.
Macknicki finished with 19 kills and 14 digs for the Zias (3-10), who lost their eighth consecutive match. Adkins posted 15 kills — the third time in the last five matches she’s had at least that many — while freshman middle blocker Megan Kazakoff added 11 kills and junior setter Stephanie Willett added 16 digs and 26 assists.
ENMU returns home on Tuesday to face New Mexico Highlands in a 7 p.m. match at Greyhound Arena.
