Senior Citizen Center holding benefit for holiday charity
The Portales Senior Citizen Center will be hosting a chili cook-off, pie-baking contest and pumpkin-carving contest today.

All entries need to be turned into the center by 5:30 p.m. Judging will take place at 6 p.m. and food will be served at 6:30 p.m. Cost for the event will be $4 per person or $10 per family for chili, hot-dogs, chips, pie and ice cream.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Program to benefit local children during the holidays. Game night will start at 8 p.m.
