Zias falter at home

Lubbock Christian spoiled Mike Maguire’s final home match as Eastern New Mexico University’s volleyball coach Tuesday night, posting a 30-24, 30-25, 30-21 non-conference victory over the Zias at Greyhound Arena.

Maguire has announced that he will end his 20-year run as Zias coach at the conclusion of this season while remaining as the school’s athletic director, a position he has also held for six years. The Zias (6-24) close out their season with three road matches over the next week.

Sophomore middle blocker Katie Maguire had 19 kills while freshman outside hitter Kelsey Odell added 13 kills and 11 digs for the Lady Chaps (16-19). Lubbock Christian’s roster includes two seniors, five sophomores and four freshmen.

The Zias were paced by junior middle blocker Randi Egley, who collected 11 kills and 10 digs.
