Jack Hensley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Turner Hensley of Portales, who is attending the National Academy of Fine Arts in New York City, has won a cash prize of $100 for an exhibit of his classroom work.
The school, which was established in 1825, has a midterm exhibit the last two weeks in January of each year and the five best exhibits receive the Dr. Ralph Wheeler cash prizes.
Jack also received a scholarship on the completion of his first two months of work at the academy.
