Background: Before moving to Portales from Arizona, Calamaco was a stay-at-home mom and a part-time bookkeeper for a farm.

Q. Describe what your job entails?
A. I run the RSVP program. I oversee 72 volunteers currently. I do a lot of recognition for my volunteers as well, which involves presentations, those are the most important.

Q. What is a typical day on the job like for you?
A. Very busy. I stay busy making sure all of my volunteers stay active.

Q. Why did you choose this job?
A. I really enjoy the senior population. I really enjoy their stories and I love their enthusiasm in helping people who are less fortunate than they are.

Q. What type of training do you need for your job?
A. We receive training from the state for the reports that are required. We have monthly trainings as well on dealing with elderly life for our seniors.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?
A. My volunteers and taking them on trips for training as well.
