Offense
Bernard Scott, Abilene Christian, Jr. RB, Vernon, Texas — Scott ran for three touchdowns and caught a pass for another as the Wildcats upended Texas State 45-27.
ENMU nominee
Michael Benton, Sr. QB — Rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown, including a 75-yard run to set up the Greyhounds’ first touchdown in a 14-10 win over Northeastern State. Benton has rushed for more than 150 yards in each of ENMU’s two games so far.
Defense
David Reed, Eastern New Mexico, Sr. DE, Loomis, Calif. — Reed helped the Hounds hold Northeastern to 239 total yards and forced a fumble on a fourth-quarter sack which teammate Kenneth Odie returned 58 yards for the game-winning touchdown. He had four tackles for the game.
Special teams
Stephen Arnold, Tarleton State, So. PK, McKinney, Texas — Arnold kicked two field goals as the No. 22 Texans beat No. 16 Southeastern Oklahoma. He also went 5-for-5 on PAT kicks.

North Division
Offense (co-players)
Trent Miller, Texas A&M-Commerce, So. QB, Conroe, Texas — Miller threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns in his first collegiate start, leading the Likons to their first win over Kingsville since 2001. It marked the first time the Commerce had three TD passes in a game since Sept. 18, 2004, against Northeastern State.
Marcus Johnson, East Central, So. QB, Abilene, Texas — Johnson set single-game school records for touchdown passes (six) and yards passing (386) as the Tigers thumped Angelo State 48-31. He completed passes to 11 receivers against the Rams.
Defense (co-players)
Will Clewis, Central Oklahoma, Sr. LB, Fort Worth, Texas — Clewis spearheaded a dominating defensive effort in a 17-7 loss to Emporia State, finishing with 15 tackles — 2 1/2 for loss — as the Bronchos allowed only 67 total yards. Both of Emporia’s TDs came on interception returns.
Robert McDonald-Douglas, East Central, Jr. LB, Pasadena, Texas — McDonald-Douglas led the Tigers with 15 total tackles, including two tackles for loss, against Angelo State.
