Students compete at state fair

Elida students who competed at the New Mexico State Fair include: Sixto Paiz,Champion Charolais steer; Raena Sanders, first place meat goat; Kinsey Criswell, second place Southdown lamb; Ryan Best, second place Finewool Cross lamb and second in the Calf Scramble Showmanship contest; Reavis Best, first place light Blackface lamb in New Mexico Bred lamb show and second place light Blackface lamb; Taylor Fraze, sixth place lamb; Kody Paiz and Sixto Paiz both won heifers in the Calf Scramble.

Volleyball teams record wins

Elida’s volleyball teams all had wins at Lake Arthur Sept. 13. On Tuesday the varsity girls defeated Grady in four matches. The junior high team lost to Grady.

Students attend Diversity Day

The sixth, seventh, and eighth graders attended Diversity Day at Eastern New Mexico University on Monday.
