Elida celebrates AYP success
Last week Elida Schools celebrated the AYP success of its students. Elementary school students scored third in the entire state on the CRT test. Junior high and high school students were in the top 10 percent of the state on the same test.
Parent-teacher conferences were held Thursday afternoon. Remaining report cards will be sent home with students Monday.

Honor Society holds induction
The Elida High School Chapter of the National Honor Society conducted ceremonies for the induction of new members and the installation of officers. Officers for the 2007-08 school year are: Wesley Gilmore, president; Janice Taylor, vice president; Christyn Lee, secretary; Dan Massey, treasurer; Anna Campbell, historian; Ethan Jasso, historian; Levi Massey, reporter; Ryan Best, chaplain.
New members include: Shanna Anthony, Alexis Orcutt, Kody Paiz, Gus Rodriquez, and Lindsey Smith.

Fall festival set
Elida PTO will have the annual Fall Festival on Saturday. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a fajita dinner and cake auction. Bingo and other games will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Red Ribbon
Week observed
Red Ribbon Week will be observed at Elida Schools during the week of Oct. 22-25. Red Ribbon Week is observed thoughout the nation for the prevention of drug abuse. Activities will include a speaker on Wednesday and a balloon release on Thursday.
