Court has new hours
New winter hours for Portales Municipal Court, effective Monday, were announced by Municipal Judge Frederick Arnold in a press release. The court will be open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed Fridays. The court is open through the lunch hour.

Health coverage fairs set for Wednesday
The New Mexico Human Services Department will hold an enrollment fair for its health coverage plans from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Eastern New Mexico University Campus Union Building.
The programs included in the enrollment are: State Coverage Insurance, which covers uninsured adults 19-64, New Mexikids, which covers children through 18 years of age; Premium Assistance for Kids (PAK), which covers children to 12 years of age who are part of a sibling group; Premium Assistance for Maternity (PAM), which covers pregnancy-related services for women who are ineligible for Medicaid maternity services due to income.
Documents needed to enroll include: proof of child’s identity, Social Security number, original birth certificate, proof of family’s past four weeks of income, proof of other health insurance.

Blood drive sponsored
Portales National Bank will host a blood drive by United Blood Services from 9:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at 109 E. Second St. in the donor bus.
Donors will receive a free T-shirt and be registered for a door prize.
Donors should be at least 17 and in good health. Donors should bring a photo ID and donor card.

Flu shots offered
Roosevelt General Hospital will offer flu shots to the public from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, 2-5 p.m. Oct. 30 and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 2.
Check in at the front office for directions. Cost is $20, insurance may be accepted.
