Library Friends to meet

A representative from the marketing department at Cannon Air Force Base will present the program at the regular meeting of the Friends of the Portales Public Library at 12 noon Thursday in the meeting room at the library, 218 South Avenue B.
The program will cover the new mission at Cannon, and the changes and challenges associated with that mission. In addition to the program, the Friends will conduct a brief planning meeting for their upcoming used book sale, scheduled for Nov. 15-17 at the library.
The meeting, which is a brown bag luncheon, is open to the public.

Commodities distribution set

The monthly commodities distribution will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial Building in Portales.

Church to host turkey dinner

The First United Methodist Church of Portales will hold its 54th annual turkey dinner and bazaar from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and younger. Carryouts are available.
