A: It begins with 24 hours on duty, 48 hours off duty. “Monday is clean the station day.” Training and more training,
Q: What is a typical day on the job like for you?
A: Always being prepared for a fire; always try to get better. Every call is different. It’s a mix of things. There were 400 fire calls last year. Every day is so dynamic.
Q: Why did you choose this job?
A: It started by watching the big red trucks when I was a kid.
Q: What type of training did you need if any for your job?
A: I’ve had a lot training, too much to mention. I have been a volunteer firefighter and did some fire training in Socorro
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A. We are a big family here. I learn things every day. Holding a sick little old lady’s hand.
