1-20-08 Police Blotter

The following is a sampling of calls placed to Portales police dispatchers over the last week. According to the reports:

Sunday
• At 11:45 p.m. suspicious activity was reported on South Main. Officers responded to the report.

Monday
• At 4:21 a.m. an alarm at Eddy Hall was activated. Fire units were dispatched.

• At 8:51 a.m. a caller reported he found a knife in the middle of the road on North Abilene.

• At 9:37 a.m. a caller reported 30 cows on the highway. The deputy was able to contact the owner of the livestock.

Tuesday
• At 12:28 p.m. a caller reported a male was at a location on West Commercial trying to buy a firearm and he has a warrant. The suspect left before officers arrived.

• At 7:25 p.m. a caller stated that someone smashed out windows on vehicles in their yard on North Ave K. Officers were dispatched.

Wednesday
• At 9:15 p.m. a caller reported that her ex had slashed her tires.

Thursday
• At 3:48 p.m. a caller requested an officer to talk to an intoxicated female that had been attempting to leave in a vehicle on West 15th Street and they had taken her keys away from her.

Friday
• At 9:31 a.m. a caller on South Main Street reported receiving encrypted messages over his TV set.
