Storm brings snow to N.M.

Staff and wire reports

The National Weather Service on Friday issued a winter storm warning — which means severe winter weather conditions are imminent or highly likely — for Curry and Roosevelt counties until 5 p.m. today.

Snow accumulation was expected to be 2 to 4 inches by daybreak today, according to the NWS.

An additional 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected today, especially near Tucumcari and eastward to the Texas line.

The NWS recommends delaying travel if possible and warns that roads may be blocked or obstructed by blowing and drifting snow with visibility reduced to near zero at times.
