Redman-Trotter named to All-LSC list

Freedom New Mexico

RICHARDSON, Texas — Senior guard Justin Redman-Trotter has been selected to represent Eastern New Mexico University on the All-Lone Star Conference South Division second team in voting by division coaches released Wednesday by the conference office.

Meantime, ENMU’s women were represented on the South’s honorable mention list by freshman guard Tori Northcutt.

Redman-Trotter, a senior from Milwaukee, earned second-team honors for the second consecutive year. His 501 points and 18.6 average represented the highest totals for a season at ENMU since at least 2000, and his 784 points over his two seasons at the school is the third-highest total in that span.

Redman-Trotter reached the 30-point mark four times, including a career-best 33 at Southwestern Oklahoma and 32 points at West Texas A&M. He had a career-high 11 assists in a home victory over Southeastern Oklahoma.

He ranked third in the LSC in scoring, fifth in steals (1.89 spg), 11th in assists (3.41 apg), 15th in free throw percentage (.755) and 19th in rebounding (5.7 rpg) for a team which struggled to a 6-21 mark, including 0-12 in the South.

Northcutt, a 2007 Clovis High grad, started all but one of 27 games for the Zias (5-22, 2-12). She averaged 7.8 points per game and 4.93 assists a contest, ranking her second in the LSC in the later category behind only Southeastern Oklahoma’s Ashley Tucker (5.33 apg).

Northcutt had a season-high 15 points in a road win over New Mexico Highlands and grabbed 13 rebounds against Texas A&M-Commerce. She had at least five assists in 10 games, including a season-best nine against South champion West Texas A&M.

Kabrick, Bailey honored — ENMU sophomores Megan Kabrick of Portales and Stephanie Bailey of Texico have been selected to the LSC commissioner’s honor roll for their play on the court and their work in the classroom.

Kabrick, a health and physical education major, nearly doubled her scoring average from 2006-07, going from 3.7 points a game to 6.6 this season. She hit 40.5 percent of her 3-point attempts, capped by a 6-for-9 outing and a career-high 22 points in Saturday’s season-ending 75-56 win over Midwestern State.

Bailey, an agriculture business major with a minor in accounting, averaged 1.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 23 games, including six starts. She had personal bests of six points and six rebounds against New Mexico Highlands, and also had a six-rebound game against Tarleton State.
