Police officers arrested a Portales man Wednesday on a variety of drug-related charges while they were conducting a probation and parole operation in Portales, according to a Portales Police Department news release.
Kyle Lopez, 19, was arrested and charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
He was booked into the Roosevelt County Detention Center. He was released Thursday on a $51,500 bond.
According to the release, while checking on probation and parole compliance at 1020 W. 17th St. in Portales, officers noticed what appeared to be narcotics and paraphernalia.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers found eight ounces of marijuana along with packaging materials in one bedroom and 1.6 pounds of marijuana in another bedroom.
Officers also located 11.9 grams of cocaine and a stolen firearm in the house.
Officers from the Portales Police Department, New Mexico Adult Probation and Parole, New Mexico State Police and Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, where involved in the operation.
