Burglary cracked

PNT Staff Report

Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office officials say they’ve made two arrests in a three-week investigation into a burglary in Roosevelt County.

Michael Pendergraft, 26, of Portales and Aaron “AD” Williams, 23, of Portales were charged last week with receiving stolen property in connection with items recovered in the case. In addition, they are both charged as felons in possession of firearms.

Both suspects are being held at the Roosevelt County Detention Center.

Sheriff Darren Hooker said his department is pursuing additional charges against the pair. He also said he does not expect additional arrests related to the case.

A homeowner reported May 18 that his residence on the Floyd Highway had been burglarized and approximately $5,375 in tools and firearms was stolen.

A tip three days later led police to the two suspects.

Approximately $3,425 worth of firearms have been recovered, according to the release.

Pendergraft, who also faces drug charges, was initially arrested during the investigation on four outstanding warrants.
