Dual credit expanded between PHS and ENMU

Portales Municipal School District and Eastern New Mexico University are teaming up to extend and expand higher education opportunities for Portales High School students through a dual credit agreement.

The deal was struck earlier this month at a meeting between PMSD officials and Steven Gamble, ENMU president, and was approved at Monday’s PMSD regular meeting.

Through the program, ENMU waives all student fees. The Portales municipal school district will pay half of the tuition, while the student pays the remainder (about $20 per credit hour).

The program is open to juniors and seniors at Portales High School.
