Upcoming events

  • Seniors will meet Thursday at the Floyd Senior Citizens Center for games and fellowship. Potluck is at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m.
  • The Women’s Bible Study at Debi Moore’s will not meet for the month of July. They will begin meeting again in August.
  • City council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Building.

July 4 fireworks

The Floyd Fire Department and the Floyd Lion’s Club will host a Fourth of July party Friday. Everyone is welcome
There will be free burgers, hot dogs and drinks at the fire station at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m. there will be games and ice cream under the big tree behind the school. There will be fireworks on the football field at 9 p.m. Following the fireworks will be a country dance with music supplied by a DJ.

Volleyball camp

There will be a volleyball camp for girls third through seventh grade at the school from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday and Wednesday. Cost is $25 per girl, and includes a T-shirt. For more information or to sign up, call Kyla Gray at 478-2501.

Bible School

The Floyd Baptist Church will be hosting a Vacation Bible School in July. Geared for children ages Pre-K to sixth grade, it will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. every Wednesday in July.
