Clovis convenience store robbed

A Clovis convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Sunday afternoon, according to Clovis police.

Just before 5 p.m. a male suspect pointed a gun at a clerk at the Allsup’s at 14th and Norris streets and demanded the money in the cash register, according to a press release.

He told the clerk “give me the money or I’ll shoot you (expletive),” the release said.

The clerk told police he was scared and struggled to get the register open, at which point the suspect grabbed the cash tray and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, the release said.

Several witnesses in the area reported seeing a man with a bandana covering his face running south and east carrying the register drawer tray.
Witnesses also described an older model, box shaped white, panel utility van leaving the area at the time of the robbery, the release said.

• Suspect description : Hispanic male, about 6-feet tall with a skinny build wearing a red bandana over his lower face. He was wearing a black T-shirt with orange and black lettering on it with an orange-color logo on the back of a man with a guitar.
