County agents help growers answer agriculture questions

By Celena Cordova, PNT Intern

Do you need help identifying a spider, or would you like to come up with new ways to market your crops? Patrick D. Kircher, 34, and Stan H. Jones, 46, have the answers to those questions. One could say that problem solving is their job.

As the Roosevelt County Agricultural Extension Agent, Kircher says that these problems could be as simple as identifying a pesky weed or as complicated as crop growing. Home and garden topics are amongst the most common questions.

These county agents work to provide residents of Roosevelt and Curry County with research-based information regarding production agriculture. This means that any person with an agriculturally based question is open to ask Kircher or Jones for advice.

“It’s always rewarding when you can help (your client) find a solution,” said Kircher.

Every day is a new day for questions and answers.
