Education feature: ENMU offering online tutoring service

By Mickey Winfield: PNT staff writer

Students at Eastern New Mexico University will soon be able to get help solving probability problems while in their pajamas or get busy with biology while biting into a burger through a new online tutoring service.

Instead of having to coordinate a busy school schedule with that of a tutuor’s or needing to pack up hefty books and trek across campus, students will soon be able to get tutoring services on a variety of classes from their dorm or residence, according to ENMU tutor coordinator and intervention specialist Esthela Banuelos.

“It all depends on what tutors we have during the semester,” Banuelos said. “Right now we have many that are in chemistry and biology. Most of the tutors that do any of the sciences can also do lower-level math.”

Once registered on the Web site, the student asks a question and a
tutor answers it. The program was created by ENMU staff and is e-mail
based.
