ODESSA, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University’s cross country teams ended a layoff from competition of just over three weeks Saturday with second-place team finishes in the UT-Permian Basin Invitational.

Sophomore Logan Robertson led the men, finishing fifth with a time of 28 minutes 41.83 seconds for eight kilometers, while freshman Yarid Gamez paced the women, placing 11th in 22:28.33 over 5K.

El Paso Community College won both divisions, scoring a near-perfect 16 to 45 for the Greyhounds in men’s competition and 19 to 68 for the Zias on the women’s side.

ENMU squads return to action on Oct. 25 in the Lone Star Conference championships at Kingsville, Texas.
