Upcoming activities

Elida School will celebrate Red Ribbon Week this week. The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to present a unified and visible commitment towards a drug-free America. Students will participate in a poster and door contest, a skit presentation and a balloon release. Students will be given ribbons, stickers, pencils, book marks and booklets.

The “Walk for Lance” will be held on the high school track Wednesday. Proceeds will be used to benefit Lance Fletcher who is undergoing treatment at St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Project R.E.A.D. with children’s author Michael Shoulders will be visiting Elida Elementary School on Thursday. Shoulders will talk about the writing process, how books are created and goal setting. The visit is also designed to impart the love of reading and writing to students.

Elida 4-H will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Mrs. Criswell’s room. All members will need to enroll for the new 4-H year and select new projects. 4-H officers will be elected.
