A Portales couple arrested on child pornography charges has been indicted, said Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Malin Parker.
Michael Gilpin, 57, was indicted Friday on 100 counts of possession of child pornography, 18 counts of conspiracy to commit sexual exploitation of children and one count of tampering with evidence. Joy Gilpin, 46, was indicted on 18 counts each of possession of child pornography and conspiracy to commit sexual exploitation of children.
Parker expects more charges against the couple because police sent 146,000 images to the New Mexico Missing and Exploited Children’s Network to have ages verified, he said.
The Gilpins are incarcerated in the Roosevelt County Detention Center. Michael Gilpin is being held on a $500,000 bond, and Joy Gilpin is being held on a $250,000 bond.
