ENMU international enrollment grows

Broadcast major Mumi Zhao came to Eastern New Mexico University to get the one thing that wasn’t an option back home in China–on-air experience.

“Back in China they teach broadcast theory classes so we don’t have a chance to practice,” Zhao said. “Here we have a TV station, so we have the chance to work on a real television program and that’s very helpful to us.”

Zhao is on of 63 Chinese students who have helped push ENMU’s international student enrollment steadily upward the past eight years. Now, university officals want to see even more international faces on campus.
