Hunter education classes start Friday

The first of two hunter education classes starts Friday in Clovis.

The classes are conducted by the New Mexico Game and Fish Department and are held at Patriot Outdoors, 1250 County Road 16.

Each class consists of three-day sessions and completion is required for anyone under 18 who wants to purchase a state hunting license.

Friday’s session is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continues Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.

Registration must be completed by Thursday and can be completed at the Clovis Wal-Mart sporting goods department or Patriot Outdoors.

Another session of the three-day class is set to start March 1.
