Marinades, charm quilts featured

Information on a unique way to attach a pocket to a shirt or blouse, cooking with pecans, and using marinades will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon Tuesday and 2 p.m., Saturday.

Sewing expert Carol Bell, who represents Ann Silva”s Bernina Sewing Center in Albuquerque, will demonstrate how to put on a pocket using the No. 10 edgestitch foot.

Ann Cox, food marketing specialist with the Texas Pecan Growers Association in College Station, Texas, will demonstrate how pecans can be used around the clock — from breakfast to lunch to dinner.

By using marinades, a lot of flavor can be added to food with just the minimum of fat, and Vicki Gagliano, of Lawry’s Foods Inc., will show how. She’s from Monrovia, Calif.

Information on making a charm quilt, preparing meals almost from scratch and creating faux antiques and collectibles will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and at noon Thursday.

Kimberly Jolly, owner of The Fat Quarter Shop, will show how to use two different table runners and create pre-cut charm squares to make an interesting quilt or wall hanging. She’s from Manchaca, Texas.

Cookbook author Linda Eckhardt will demonstrate how to “almost” cook from scratch based on her popular book titled “Half Scratch Magic.” These recipes focus on meals for families.
