Joshua Carrillo, 25, of Portales died in a one-car rollover early Wednesday morning northeast of Roswell, according to the New Mexico State Police.
According to a State Police, Carrillo was westbound on U.S. 70 around midnight when his 2005 Ford pickup drifted onto the westbound shoulder near Mile Marker 357, went into a broadside skid and, as it re-entered the roadway, began rolling.
Carrillo wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and was ejected, police said.
A deputy medical investigator pronounced Carrillo dead at the scene.
Alcohol wasn’t a factor in the wreck, according to the release.
